Paintings created in the last year. The works are semi-abstract representations of the American desert west, where I live currently. All images begin with my sketchbook, which I carry at all times. The final work arrives from a combination of gestural brushwork, attempting to recapture the act of looking embodied in the charcoal drawings, supplemented by memory.
